Digital Impasto

Honestly, when I can have so much fun with digital thick paint brushes it's hard to miss the real thing. Well, not really, but I don't miss the cleaning up after a real painting session. I do miss having a real piece of art to show for my efforts. Prints are the only way I can do this. The good news Fine Art America and other printers can offer prints on a variety of surfaces. The bad news is I didn't paint this one with a high enough resolution to make a good print.
I like to keep paper copies of my digital paintings in a journal and I have found the best way to do this is with page size printable labels. Because I use so many I buy them in quantity them at Online Labels . They are designed for inkjet printers (and laser  printers) so the copies are great and because of the self adhesive backing I do not have to glue them in. I made the mistake of not buying their score backing. I suggest if you buy them you consider that. That makes the removal of the backing much easier. Other than that I love this company and their products, fast shipping and customer service. They have a variety of shapes and sizes at a very reasonable price. I also use the transparent labels for mix media techniques. Just thought I would share this in case you are looking for another way to journal or to add layers to your collages... back to the computer easel!
