With the exception of doing a real collage for the CitraSolv contest (no, I did not win anything, but I have had my share of awards), I continue to avoid my studio. My old age is catching up with me. I have become addicted to working on my computer from my recliner. Yes, I know this is bad for my back, etc., but I can work at a leisurely pace then change positions, recline back and nap :O) Truth be known I rarely nap until just before dinner to avoid cooking it! The crazy diet I am on does not inspire kitchen artistry. I have lost 15 pounds on this diet and my energy along with it! (This probably is part of the lack of studio time.)

Recently I posted a video on YouTube that I recorded from a CBS This Morning show’s ‘Note To Self’. It is about the renowned artist Chuck Close. Chuck’s teachers told him in eighth grade not to even think of going to college, because of some of learning disabilities. His story is amazing and he offers very sound advice to all artists or anyone for that matter. I could write what he said, but I think it would be better to watch and listen to him as he speaks. It will have more meaning. Enjoy!

I know it has been awhile since my last post. I will try not bore you with why, but know that I am still alive and kicking. With so much to do, I manage to continue to find new things to add to my list such as Pinterest, Polyvore, Strathmore online classes, and Ning groups. They manage consume my every waking moment! Unfortunately, taking time to tend to household needs does not get easier. Not a good thing! My studio along with the rest of the house is growing cobwebs!!! Therefore, in keeping with my current last minute modus operandi, my Easter post came from a Google search triggered by a report on CBS News Sunday Morning.
I saw these eggshell carvings and they blew me away. I knew immediately I discovered something to share with all of you today. They are the creations of Franc Grom. Grom uses a small electric drill to create the beautiful eggs that are inspired by traditional Slovenian designs. You can read and see more designs on the site of weburbanist.com Enjoy!
Wishing you a happy Easter and belated Passover.
