After a long period of being uninspired to do anything but
watch videos on YouTube, I found some videos on alcohol inks. I bought a little
set of three earlier this spring, but never played with them. In desperation to
do something creative, even if it was just experimenting, I cut up some small
pieces of Yupo and started playing. What fun! I do not know where this will
lead or how long the fascination will last, but the important thing is I am in
my studio again and creating!
The only caveats are alcohol inks are not for anyone with breathing
or alcohol problems. The fumes will get to you after awhile. Also wearing vinyl
gloves and protective clothing is a must. These inks stain everything!
Love all the yummy patterns.....they look like exotic collage!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pamela. Not sure what more I can do with these inks, but it was fun.
ReplyDeleteLove your posted results. I played with these too and they are fun but I agree with you they are not the stuff of long term commitment.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried art journaling? I have been doing it steady now for years and its a blast. I just found a new Facebook group started by Orly Avineri and you can find it here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/231822096967393/ There is tons of inspiration and sharing and it is a lovely supportive group. There is over 800 members and it just started this September. The enthusiasm is contagious!
Thank you Patti for taking the time to comment. I will check out Orly's FB group. I love Orly's work.
