Egg Shell Art

I know it has been awhile since my last post. I will try not bore you with why, but know that I am still alive and kicking.  With so much to do, I manage to continue to find new things to add to my list such as Pinterest, Polyvore, Strathmore online classes, and Ning groups. They manage consume my every waking moment! Unfortunately, taking time to tend to household needs does not get easier. Not a good thing! My studio along with the rest of the house is growing cobwebs!!! Therefore, in keeping with my current last minute modus operandi, my Easter post came from a Google search triggered by a report on CBS News Sunday Morning.

I saw these eggshell carvings and they blew me away. I knew immediately I discovered something to share with all of you today. They are the creations of Franc Grom. Grom uses a small electric drill to create the beautiful eggs that are inspired by traditional Slovenian designs. You can read and see more designs on the site of weburbanist.com  Enjoy!

Wishing you a happy Easter and belated Passover.

  2. It's amazing to think the eggs were carved so intricately with a hand held drill, wow. I see people on Facebook posting Pinterest links all the time although I have not been interested enough to join. What do you like about it? There are so many endless distractions on the web!

    1. Yes, Robin, they are amazing. They said on CBS Sunday Morning, he gets up to $500. each for them, but it takes a week to carve them. That's not a lot in this day for such beautiful art.
I like Pinterest because it is like a catalog of wonderful things. The downside is some people don't like their copyrighted work being copied and pinned there. The same goes for Polyvore. The upside if you want to bring people to your site, it is a good way to do it as your link is part of the image. I don't have any image of mine that I know of on it, but maybe I should consider it :O)

  3. Happy Easter to you too Eva!
A person would need a steady hand to drill such delicate patterns in the eggs shells.
